MEET THE NEW BABY

One of the things I love about my husband is that he is a cat person. He is also a complete sucker for a kitten.

Which is why we now have this little one.

(Paul was out inspecting a house, and the guy next door said, hey, would your wife like a kitten? Little did the guy know that in our house, it's the HUSBAND.)

Paul made his pick: a calico (did you know calico cats are always female?), which we have christened MAGGIE, after my grandmother.

So far she is every bit as sweet as her namesake. And playful. And has a motor box to calm a person even on her worst day.

Love!

ETA: Actually, Maggie is not a calico at all! She's a tortoiseshell. That's what they call it when the primary color is black (and not white).

  1. So cute!! In my household we are cat people, too. They are the best and have such personality.

  2. Very cute but is it a calico... hummm
Does Maggie have white on her??
Answer: First off, what is a calico cat? A calico cat is not a breed of cat, it is a color pattern. To be called "calico", three colors must be present: black, white and orange. Variations of these colors include gray, cream and ginger. A "true" calico cat has large blocks of these three colors, a "tortoise shell" or "tortie" cat has a mix of these three colors (blended/swirled together more than distinct blocks of color).

Like cats but you know where my heart is... as a type A I like an action pet not one that curls in your lap and purrs. But she is cute but Mario is much cuter and Sonic ... sorry Eric Maggie is cuter than Sonic

  3. A very pretty kitty lying on a beautiful quilt. Cats love me probably because I grew to be deathly allergic to them, which is sad. Lizards are just not as soothing a pet.
